Production Diary 4

During a period 5 lesson, we went around school to find places to film some running away scenes and we found an area in the science block which had good lighting and an interesting place to film with a rusty gate.

Production Diary 3

Members of my group continued filming as I was not needed so I looked at fonts for our title. but here are some pictures of their filming.

Production Diary 2

THE VOID - Members of my group went to film in the void.

Production Diary

For our opening scene, we all travelled to Barking to film at an avaliable house, this was Cain's, our killer, home and where we was taught religion lessons by his parents to not sin or be immoral. During filming this sequence, I have learnt that it is difficult to get smooth shots with obsticales such as stairs/steps. Also that it is difficult to film in small spaces, and it will take a long time to get a specific shot.

Film Title Survey Results and Response

We have collected our results from our SurveyMonkey. Our respondents have helped us choose our film title. Four of our film titles were popular with our respondents;
Press Play
My Name is Cain
Him
Silence to Kill

so we decided to choose one of them that we liked the most and that suited our synopsis the best.

Horror Make Up Practise - Open Cuts

For the open cuts, I went to a fancy dress shop to buy derma wax. Durma Wax is wax that you are able to mould very easily and are able to put onto skin without any harm. To create the open cut, i got a small amount of wax, but you get any amount depending on the size of the cut, and moulded it into a sausage shape and then pat it down gently onto the back of my hand. I then smoothed the sides of the wax so it blended into my skin. I used a plastic knife to 'cut open' the wax.
To create the blood i used various items to make it look realistic. To get the vibrant red, I used a lipstick and a lip brush. To make it darker, I used matt red and brown eye-shadow.

Horror Make-Up Practise - Scar

For our killer we wanted to give him a distinct feature, and we all agreed on the idea of a scar. I looked up on YouTube on how to create a scar and came across a very simple tutorial on how to create a scar using two to three products. I went to a fancy dress shop to get rigid collodion.

Rigid Collodion is used by many big film artist to create scars such as Heath Ledgers scar when he played the character 'The Joker' from Dark Knight. To help give the scar depth and dimension, I used a natural coloured lip liner and smudged it a little bit so line didn't look to bold. To make a little more realistic, I also used eye-shadow. I used matt brown, red and purple.

Research - Horror Make-up

For our killer we would like to give him a scar as it would show a convention of traditional hirror killers, they either have a mask of disfigurment on their face, I have looked at a few tutorial on youtube looking a horror make-up that we will be able to do under a budget.
As well as scars, I have also looked at other make-up such as cuts, open wounds and strangle marks.
